(KANSAS CITY, MO) October 2020 Lead Bank, a locally owned, award-winning financial institution committed to offering best-in-class banking products, recently launched contactless debit cards. Contactless chip cards allow users to tap their card against a reader, in addition to swiping or inserting, for faster checkout. The banking industry has had to rethink its daily operations; the exchange of funds is no different. 

Lead Bank issued cards use short-term-range radio frequency identification (RFID) wireless technology, which quickly completes transactions between a payment device and a checkout terminal. Contactless cards can be used anywhere a contactless symbol is visible on the point of sale card reader. According to Visa, overall contactless usage has grown 150% since March 2019. The benefits of using contactless payments include: a faster and more convenient checkout when you're on the go, a simplified process of tapping the card on the reader and a more sanitary payment option since there is no exchange of card from one person to another. If a client opts for a standard or even a personalized contactless Lead Bank debit card, then he/she can visit a branch to request, and pick-up the new debit card in 10 minutes or less. If a client has a current Lead Bank account and would like a contactless card, he/she can request that card from a Banker and will receive it withing 7-10 days.
