Two Students will participate in the 2018 Corporate Internship Program
KANSAS CITY, MO (January 2018) Lead Bank, one of Kansas City’s leading locally owned financial institutions, recently welcomed two Cristo Rey High School students for the second semester of the 2017-2018 school year as part of the Cristo Rey Work Study Program (CWSP). During this internship, Dominique Huerta, freshman, and Laura Contreras, sophomore, will work one day a week and one Friday per month at the Crossroads location, acquainting themselves with banking operations and procedures.
The work-study program is considered an integral part of the educational program of Cristo Rey for students to gain working experience and engage in career exploration. Each student will receive practical insight as well as academic, instructional credit hours which comply with Missouri’s law for fully-accredited, college preparatory curriculum, as well as gaining first-hand experience in the field of their choice.

The students will complete various tasks such as teller transactions, answer phones, greet clients, utilize their Spanish translation abilities, and must be able to demonstrate basic problem-solving. The training aims to enhance their understanding of the various operations within the Bank and the nature of responsibilities in this market sector.
