"We not only value a bank that understand the important of fostering a thriving local arts community but also a bank that foes above and beyond." - Stephanie Leedy, Client of Lead Bank since August 2018
Stephanie Leedy's father founded the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center 34 years ago as one of the first vanguards for the local arts in the Crossroads Arts District. Indeed, one might say that the Leedy family laid the foundation for today's Crossroads community. The Leedy-Voulkos Art Center's mission is to profile world class artwork by Kansas City's creative community of painters, sculptors, ceramicists, photographers, designers, printmakers, craftsmen and more. the gallery exhibits compelling shows of international, national, and regional artists, but its main focus is to provide a venue to support students and local artists in order to retain Kansas City's talented creatives. Stephanie and her daughter Erin also share professional resources with developing artists to help increase the artist's exposure during monthly First Friday gallery events. When it came to working with a bank, Stephanie and Erin wanted a bank that was local and that shared their common goal of trying to establish Kansas City as a center for the arts. They also desired a bank that provides a personal touch, supports women and minority-owned businesses, offers creative lending solutions, and that shares their sense of community.
